I love the morning..my first glimpse of the day's sun. A new beginning.Yet..it's dusk I truly embrace....especially at this time of year. I love when it gets dark early and cooler, colder in the evening. When nighttime comes...I am enveloped in its darkness with comfort and a sense of serenity. Could it be that I feel protected by the stars that peep at this time? Or is it perhaps the moon watching over me...providing the glow of the eve?No matter. I am a child of the night.Daytime may offer promises of new beginnings, but nighttime brings many possibilities. Wishes made upon a star are ever more granted. Blessings under the light of the moon ever more powerful. Dreams under the blanket of deep purple...ever more beautiful. The rustling leaves are making my music for this eve. The wind is still howling softly. The nighttime clouds are looking ever so fluffy this evening...like pulled cotton balls, softly caressing the sky. I hear the crickets, still holding on to the vestiges of summer. Poor little ones...pretty soon their song shall be silenced till next year.I am one with the night at this very moment. I smile for the possibilities it offers and for its comforting embrace when I close my eyes and head out to the land of nod. I shall now blow out the candle....tis time for night's embrace.Feeling quite blissful...and just a tad bit wistful.Nite nite my dears!xoxoMiss Sandra
It's Saturday...and finally the sun is truly out! I do hope it lingers for we've seen very little of Mr. Sun lately. *sigh* A lazy, quiet day it is. What shall I do??Ahhh....what does one do on a pretty day such as this? Gardening of course! So my dears, I'm off to go do some planting and some clean up. Must make my world pretty.I wish you all a beautiful day filled with sunshine and all that is good!xoxoMiss Sandra
This morning my alarm went off at 8:00am. I know, not exactly dawn but my body still protested. I wondered to myself...Why can't the weekend consist of seven days? Why does it go so fast?I went in to the shop and with the length of the weekend still in mind, I asked my minions (dear staff) the same question. Needless to say, they really had no response.
Not surprising.
I did a bit of crocheting under my linden tree on Saturday. Perhaps if the weekend lasted seven days it wouldn't be so enjoyable. N'est pas? Perhaps a week of only two days would prove tedious and lacking in essence. This is what I told myself. Really...I tried to convince myself.Still to no avail...I wish the weekend consisted of a whole week.
My view looking up, while lying down underneath the linden tree. These silly ramblings have been brought to you by the lady of Harmonie House, who is sorely lacking in blog material this evening.I guess I just wanted to say hi...glad to see you all again after this lovely, yet too short weekend. Hugs and kisses all around!!xoxoxo!Miss Sandra
This evening was yet another perfect one for dining outdoors. I made myself a simple dish, poured some wine into a goblet, and went out to my garden.
The breeze felt divine as I savored the moment of being outdoors in nature with birds, chirping away, as my only company.
Funny how one can embrace being alone, for sometimes it does becomes habit. However, this evening found me feeling the loneliness. I sat there, with life and beauty surrounding me....eating alone. I thought of how my husband, had he lived, would be sitting beside me discussing the day's events. I feel his absence on a daily basis, but very much so tonight. I guess perhaps the beauty of the day reminded me of the beauty of my yesterdays with Ron. They were lovely days.
The loneliness was so thick...still is...I can cut it with a knife.
I don't know why I posted this here, when most of time I'm my ever cheerful self...probably just the need to share my feelings. Besides, writing about it is a form of release and therapy.
Please...it's not to garner sympathy or anything of the like. I'll be fine and this too shall pass.
I guess I just wanted the company and you have all been so wonderful. Thank you for always dropping by and reminding me that there is a world out there with so many beautiful individuals.
I need not feel alone.
xoxo

I tend to ponder quite a bit when the sky is gray and the rain comes pouring down upon our earth. Whether it's the soothing sound of the rain dripping against the window panes, or the dimness within my home due to the sunless sky, I somehow manage to lose myself in deep thought.
As I wandered through the inner depths of my mind, I pondered human nature and the little things that make people click. No one is perfect...I personally can vouch for that. After all, it's our imperfections which make us unique and wonderful. That said however, we have a tendency to react quickly to even the most minor of circumstances. We'll either huff and puff in anger or walk away from the situation mumbling under our breath. We are so blinded by our instant response that we do not stop to take it in and see it for what it really is....petty.
Indeed there have been situations which go beyond the realm of acceptable
behavior, but most disagreements stem from an unreasonable reaction to a minor misunderstanding. Everything from lovers' spats to family quarrels can at most times be traced to our propensity to react without taking in the situation at hand. I know, for I have been guilty of reacting unreasonably. By the same token however, I've been on the receiving end of such behavior either for giving advice when unsolicited or by speaking my mind. *sigh*
What this diatribe all comes down to is this....let's stop and take a deep breath. Let us, in any situation, take in what we see or what we hear and make sense of it before we react. Life is too short to lose our temper. More importantly...life is too short to lose ourselves within a chasm of negativity that may alienate those we love.I now look out my window and see the beauty of green all around. The lawn's reaction to this constant rain is to grow in verdure abundance. So lovely.
Though it may seem dreary to most, this is indeed a beautiful day. May the raindrops of laughter, love, wishes, and dreams shower you with the promise of a happy today, tomorrow, and ever after.xoxo
...At blogging that is. Drawn by the pull, no the very innermost urge, no...DESIRE (yes!) to write, I decided to give blogging a try. So alas, here I am.
I'm moved by the beauty of nature and all that surrounds me. I'm inspired by the seasons and the little things that bring a smile to my face. So my musings for this evening shall be about Spring. Those who know me know that Winter has always been my season of choice however, even the snow queen needs a thaw. Besides, flowers make me smile.
I've heard nothing but constant rants lately over all the rain we're getting. Naturally I hold back the sassy remarks about this being April, and showers, and..well you get the point. I kindly remind them that flowers ,blooming trees, and beautiful, lush lawns will be the result of this deluge. At least that's what I tell myself...and it works! Rain holds a particular magic for us all.
Think about it. Rainy days go well in hand with a good book and a comfy throw...
a cup of tea and a classic film. How about baking?? Some days cleaning is the perfect way to spend a rainy day. If one doesn't have the luxury of being home on such a day but is stuck behind a desk at the office...no problem. That's when you are grateful for not missing out on a perfectly lovely day. Does that make sense?
Nevertheless, it's all about appreciating the moments..each and every one of them. For without them, what would make up our lives? I am grateful for the rain, snow, the good, and yes..even the bad, for without it how can I know and appreciate all the good life can bring?
I'm not sure if I meant to be philosophical tonight but once I begin rambling, anything goes. Besides, I'm having a bit of blogger's block. Perhaps that's a sign to quit while I'm ahead. *sigh* All right. I guess it's time to call it a night and wish everyone a most lovely slumber filled with delightful dreams. Have a beautiful Spring day tomorrow....even if it is raining.
